Comic Character Doll Project

Description

I created these three comic character dolls based on my own comic series that I have been drawing since I was 11. They all have their own personalities. Each one has their own customized outfit. I used a combination of my vintage Bernina sewing machine and hand sewing techniques to make the dolls as well as hand painted their faces. I also did not use patterns for these dolls as they were my own original design. I enjoy the handstitching aspect of making dolls because it gives you a lot of control over the result. I believe that making doll clothes is a great way to prepare for making full-size clothing even though I’m not personally interested in that right now.
